SSEAYP PPY 2007, Batch PAGSIKAT

TWENTY-EIGHT of the country’s finest young leaders represented the nation as Philippine youth ambassadors to show Asia how great it is to be Filipino. The delegates to the 34th Ship for Southeast Asian Youth Program (SSEAYP) is a select group of young professionals, educators, community workers, students, artists, writers, designers and musicians. The Office of the President of the Philippines, through the National Youth Commission, chose them from among thousands of applicants across the country.

The SSEAYP is a diplomatic exchange program among and between the emerging youth leaders in Asia. It is an annual program sponsored by the Cabinet Office of Japan. 313 participating youth delegates participated in this program to promote and strengthen friendship and cultural understanding among the young people particularly in Southeast Asia. The Philippine delegation will join its counterparts from all ASEAN-member countries and Japan. In 2007, the delegates visited Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and Japan.
